As creative as I try to be, I often find myself wearing the same combinations on the weekend. To be honest, after 5 days straight of waking up early and taxing my brain for an appropriate and cute outfit for the workday, I am a bit tired of thinking and I tend to go on auto-pilot on the weekends. I know what I like, I know what looks good on me, and I wear the heck out of it until it’s time for a new cycle. Lately, I have been wearing stripes and jeans, sweaters and boots…. namely a navy and white Banana Republic long-sleeve, usually with a navy v-neck J.Crew sweater over top, a pair of jeans, and neutral booties.
While the prep in me loves that combination, I am starting to get a little bored with my current “weekend uniform” and am ready to move onto a new easy weekend look — enter the look above. When Gaby featured me in her new Closet Series on Tuesday, I noted that my favorite color combo is army green, black, and denim. Isn’t it so chic but still really “it’s the weekend and I’m comfortable”? You all know I couldn’t stop wearing the Old Navy green vest over the Summer, and I just picked up a similar jacket, so I see plenty of outfits like the one above in my future!
I am interested to know if I am alone or if others operate with similar habits on the weekend. Do you have a weekend uniform or do you normally mix it up?
P.S. Other ways to style a grey tee here, and a few more green vest outfits here and here!
