Add Some Emerald

by lauren on January 15, 2013

Before you get completely inundated with emerald-crazy style posts, I wanted to show you how to inject just a touch of the newest “it” color into your everyday look.  I know these “colors of the season” can be a little overwhelming, but don’t let this color make you feel that way – it’s a bold color that can be added to your look in the littlest way and still make a big impact.  Whether you’re more comfortable with wearing it on your nails, wearing it on your feet, or earrings are just enough for you, you should definitely try to find some way to incorporate it into your wardrobe.

One:  Loafers // Two:  Necklace // Three:  Leather Bag // Four:  Stud Earrings // Five: Nail Polish // Six:  Leather Gloves // Seven:  Printed Pants

Do you think you’ll try the emerald trend?

Yeah!, I am actually really loving it. Might have to get the Essie color for my nails – a weekend-only color, though, for me!

I really like the bag and nails on the feet. Might try it. Question: How long do you think this color will be prominent? Don’t want to invest a lot of money in a bag for a trend that will not last.

Shannan – not super sure how long this color will be trendy, but my opinion has always been that if you really like the color of something, like the bag, and the bag itself is a good style and it complements your wardrobe well, it doesn’t really matter if it’s no longer the “cool” color. You know what I am saying? I don’t always feel that way about particular styles, but colors aren’t as black-and-white to me (no pun intended ;) ). That bag is a pretty classic style, so if you like the color enough, go for it.

I’m excited the “it” color is emerald! I would love a blazer in emerald as I think it’s something you can wear for years – hopefully I’ll find one this year :)
