Two Ways (for fall): White Jeans

August 16, 2012

Gone are the days when people still adhered to the rule of “no white bottoms after Labor day” (if you’re still following this rule, time to get yourself to 2012), so this year, I plan to wear my white jeans for as long as I can, because I am all about getting the most out of my clothing!  Think white jeans won’t work when the temperatures drop and we’re needing to bundle up?  Think again – this closet staple is so versatile that it really is possible to get some wear out of them into Fall.  Here are two really easy ways to style your white jeans come October.

On the left, a more casual, weekend look:  Perfect for meeting the girls for coffee or lunch on a Saturday.  The earth tones keep this look grounded and very Fall-like, despite the bright white pants.  On the right is a polished, lady-on-the-go look, which is toned down for Fall with the sleek camel blazer (seriously… how gorgeous is that blazer!?… comes in black too).  Wear this look for a casual work meeting or an important appointment.

So what do you think – will you give white jeans a try for Fall?

I agree with you, that silly rule is just that, silly! Love white jeans (still need to get a pair!) and the way you styled them 😉

    • Lauren Corso

I hate this “rule” – heard it on the radio the other day and thought “This woman must be very unstylish”

I love these outfit ideas – especially both great jackets and pairing with leopard of any sort. I love getting fall use out of my white jeans (and kind of like the unexpectedness of them put with fall pieces), but here’s my question: can I still do white jeans for fall when they’re ankle length? The slightly shorter length makes them seem more summery…

    • Lauren Corso

I think you can, especially if you have boots you can wear them with. Then you don’t have to worry about the length.

I’ve loved my white jeans this summer & there’s no way that I want to part with them anytime soon, so I’ll be working every possible angle that I can to keep them in my fall wardrobe rotation! :) I love posts like these…keep ’em coming!

    Have a great weekend!

I was just thinking of how I was going to transition my white jeans. I think I’ll try to work them in with earth tones. Great post lady!

Hi Lauren! I enjoy your blog so much! I love this outfit and that it’s “okay” to wear white after Labor day! :) I had a quick question for you–I’d love to hear your opinion. I am wanting to purchase some booties similar to the ones you posted. Which color (brown, tan or gray) do you feel is most versatile? I want the most bang for my buck. How would you suggest picking a color that I could incorporate with multiple outfits, etc. that I already have in my closet?

    Thanks so much!!

    • Lauren Corso

Hi Leslie – Since this is a personal choice and will hinge on what colors your closet is made up of, here is my suggestion. Print out a picture of each of the three colors of the boots. Next, go to your closet and look at all of your clothes, then mentally “create” 5 outfits that would be your go-to for Fall. Once you have those outfits in mind, look at the three colors and then visualize which color boot would go best with your 5 outfits. Let me know what you decide! (Personally, the taupe or the natural would be my pick!)
