Friday was a toughie; one of my best girlfriends of all time was departing Saturday morning on a one-way ticket to Portland to begin an exciting, new chapter in her life. In order to properly send her off, a group of us met at our favorite BYOB Thai restaurant (Asiana) in Cincinnati to toast to Lauren and give her our well-wishes. I’ve been itching to wear my new white jeans, but since it was pretty cool that evening, I wanted to look seasonably-appropriate, so I went with a pared down look: White skinnies, black pointed-toe heels, a grey v-neck, and black blazer. A recipe for sartorial success, if you ask me (albeit a bit of a gamble with the copious amounts of red wine being tossed back)! Styling Tip: If you’re going to repurpose a work blazer for a night out (which is a fantastic way to get more out of your investment pieces), cuff the sleeves and push above the elbow for a more casual, relaxed vibe.
P.S. If you’re looking for a new pair of pumps, I would highly recommend this Sam Edelman pair (mine are the black croco). They are incredibly comfortable and the perfect height. But make sure you order a size down – I normally wear a 7 and the 6’s fit just perfect!
