Girl Look At That Body!

April 19, 2012

After a 6 months hiatus, I am back on the Crossfit wagon.  Back in September/October, I tore my TFCC, which some may refer to as the meniscus of the wrist.  I was sidelined for the last 6 months and just started back to Crossfit on Tuesday (if you’re wondering, yes, I am incredibly sore after 2 days in a row).  While working out, I was thinking about how much I love my workout pants (weird? maybe…. ’tis the life of a fashion blogger), so I thought I’d share my favorite products, in case you needed an excuse to get your butt in gear and headed to the gym {in a bit of style}.

One:  Target Seamless Cami Bra -  While I may not recommend this for our larger-bosomed ladies, this is perfect for women with smaller chests, while still being supportive.  Often with thick-strapped sports bras I felt suffocated and like I had the body of a 10 year old girl.  This sports bra is perfect because it doesn’t flatten and it comes in AWESOME colors (at least 10 in the store) and it’s only $17!  One sidenote though, wash separately if you get a concentrated color because it will bleed a bit!

Two:  Lululemon Wunder Unders - I could talk all day about how much I love Lululemon Wunder Under crops.  Yes, they’re about $68, but they are worth it beyond anything I could convey in text, so just go buy them.  Oh, and they make every butt look fabulous.  Seriously.

Three:  Puma Blueprint Duffle – I think it’s really important to have a good gym bag.  I’ve been searching for a new one and I think this is it.  Good colors, separate openings for shoes so I can put my work pair in on one side and keep my sneakers in the other side.  Also a huge compartment in the middle for my clothes.  Also has both a long and short strap which are both useful in different situations.

Four:  Inov-8 F-Light 195 – These shoes are THE.THING for the Crossfit community, but I am honestly surprised they haven’t made it big in general yet.    I prefer light shoes that have thin soles, sort of like running flats – these are a bit thicker-soled but are incredibly light.  They’re reasonably priced and come in some really cool colors like bright red, royal blue, green, and grey.

Five:  Camelbak Water Bottle – These waterbottles are BPA-free and spill proof (!!!) They also have a nice wide-mouth opening so if you like to add ice to your water, no problem with these.  They’re awesome quality and come in really fun colors!

If you needed a little push to get you back in the gym and ready for bathing suit season, try picking up one or two of the things above to get you excited about working out.   Getting there is the hardest part, and if something little like a new water bottle or neon sports bra will make you feel confident in the gym, it is totally worth the small expense.

Oh wow love love love the colors of those bras! But with my running I really need good support, even though I’m not big chested ;)
And couldn’t agree more with what you say about lululemon, I just got my first top from them and I’m so in love with it, I would have gotten another one but they didn’t have my size. I’m definitely saving pennies for more running clothes from them, totally worth it ;)

Gaby – Lulu is the best! Glad you agree. Definitely worth saving up a little bit so you can have the quality of Lulu. Nothing compares in terms of how well it wears, and their stuff is so stylish!

Those bras are awesome! And I have a Target gift card..Yay! I totally support the Lululemon and Puma lines. They are by far my favorite gym attire. Just like anything else, you get what you pay for. They are an investment, but they don’t get stinky and you look good at the grocery post gym. :)

Yay!! Babs – they make the neon colors in full strapped bras to in case you like those better… but I think the thin strapped cami bras are prettier :)

I don’t own a sports bra that isn’t from Target “Champion” line or whatever it’s called. They are the best & I love all the variety of colors they provide. $17 may not be much for one bra… but when I’m purchasing 8 at once, it can get a bit pricey ;)

I love the target bras! Not only do they come in fun colors but all tie-dye = the best.
And I’m obsessed with the Camelbak water bottles. Mine goes every where with me!

Couldn’t agree more on the Lulu’s. They’re amazing! Side note, they’re my bf’s favorite thing I own. I wonder why ;)

New workout clothes are probably my favorite part of actually working out.

Lol I sung the title in my head when I first read it. I agree with splurging on workout pants. The nice ones can even make it look like you are a frequent gym goer (nice butt) even if you haven’t gone in months!

I love the Target Champion bras. I stalk that section everytime I’m in there and buy anything on clearance. They are the only ones I’ll wear.

I just started CrossFit a couple months ago and am totally in love with it. The best thing that’s ever happened to me. I look forward to my workouts everyday and have met the most incredible and inspiring people doing it!

I have the lululemon groove pants and whenever they come out of the wash they still dont look clean, like covered with lint and I dont wash them with towels or use fabric softener. They are made with Luon, are the wonder unders made of the same? Then also at the gym if im stretching or doing abs or push up and end up not exactly on my mat i feel like my pants attract the grossness gym dirt from the floor. Also feel like they attract dog hair or any dirt from hiking or playing outside with Jack. I am sorry for the total rant, i am just confused what i am doing wrong with these expensive pants to make them look like crap. I have a gift card to lulu and i really need another pair of work out pants but im confused now, they seemed great at first but didnt hold up long.

My husband started getting into Crossfit recently. I don’t think I could do it haha. I LOOOOOOVE those Target sports bras! I definitely agree about feeling suffocated with thick straps as a small chested woman. This one feels so light and supportive at the same time.

I don’t know how you did 2 days of cross fit in a row, but good for you!! I live in my lululemon groove pants, but I’ve been wanting to splurge and get the crop! and great to know about the target sports bras – I am not blessed with a chest and feel like my Nike sports bras are way too tight and intense for me. Love those colors too!
